BASKETBALL STAR ACADEMY

My basketball journey began at Åbyhøj Basketball. A pivotal high school stint in Fremont, California, earned me the Northern Californian Division III championship. After playing for Viby, I contributed to Skovbakken’s transition into the Bakken Bears, helping secure three Danish championships. Toward the end of my playing career, I returned to Åbyhøj. As a player, I participated in four senior national team tournaments and one youth championship. I’ve also coached various men’s teams, including Odder Basket, Åbyhøj’s 2nd Division team, and the AUS 2nd Division team. Holding a master’s degree from Aarhus University, I currently teach history, social science, and Global Politics at IBG.

I received my basketball upbringing at Skovbakken Basketball and later joined the elite department of Bakken Bears. I played there from the mid-1990s until the 2002/2003 season. After that, I was recruited to Aabyhøj Basketball, where I also competed in the Basketligaen until the 2005/2006 season. During the 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 seasons, I was selected for the Basketligaen All-Star team. I have coaching experience with various youth teams and have been responsible for basketball instruction in the sports education program at Aarhus University for several years. I’m also a certified fitness trainer with extensive experience in the physical training of elite athletes.

I began playing basketball in Šibenik, Croatia, at the age of ten — a city renowned for its elite youth academy that produced players like Dražen Petrović and Dario Šarić. Growing up in a high-performance environment taught me the value of skill development, teamwork, and work ethic. I progressed through all youth levels with Došk Drniš and Šibenik Dalma Gradnja, learning from coaches who now lead EuroLeague teams. Their influence shaped my understanding of technical fundamentals, tactics, and leadership. After transitioning from player to coach, I began mentoring youth teams in Herning, focusing on individual skills, teamwork, and positive learning. Currently, I am head coach at IBC and coach for the U19 Div2 team at BSA, where I continue developing young athletes through structured, high-standard training programs. My coaching philosophy emphasizes individual growth, teamwork, and continuous learning. I bring dedication, technical knowledge, and a passion for helping players reach their full potential within a structured academy environment.

With a love for basketball cultivated over four decades, my journey has taken me from the courts of Italy to the dynamic basketball scene in Denmark. From player in Italy to head coach in the Billund Basketball Club, through the playing and coaching experience in Vejle, l have contributed to nurturing talent and leading teams into official tournament under the Danish Federation (DBBF). When I'm not immersed in the world of basketball, I channel my 25 years of experience into my role as Head of Digital Workplace. Additionally, I enjoy the thrill of public speaking, having had the privilege of presenting at TEDx events and various esteemed conferences. At BSA, I'm on a mission to unleash the full potential of every player, shaping resilient individuals both on and off the court.
