Welcome Faruk!

At BSA we have a Mission:

We support the athletes’ dream in their basketball journey, through elite training, high level education, personal growth, and dedicated mentorship, cultivating confident, skilled, and resilient players ready to succeed on and off the court.

We have nearly 50 dreamers this season and we strive to stick to our mission. Therefore, we started looking for an additional coach to cope with the 41% growth from last year, and we are glad to announce that Faruk Velagić has joined BSA as the new coach for the U17 Div1 Team.

He is from Bosnia and Herzegovina and has many years of experience in basketball, both as a player and as a coach, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey (youth national team) and Denmark.

His experience in the youth top level gave him a significant advantage in understanding young players, their development needs, and how to help them reach their full potential.

He has spent many years in Fredericia Basketball Club, working with young players and made a strong impact on the club and its youth development: something to be really proud of.

His coaching education includes FIBA, KSBiH, ATK3 DBBF, EuroLeague Head Coach Academy and Žalgiris Kaunas Academy, and he was also nominated for Danish Youth Coach of the Year.

Over 15 years, player development has always been a major focus of his coaching.
